In a thrilling Week 7 matchup, the Buffalo Bills secured a 34-10 victory over the Tennessee Titans at Highmark Stadium. The win pushed the Bills to a strong 5-2 record, while the Titans, who had initially shown promise, dropped to 1-5 on the season.
Josh Allen, making his 100th career start, led the Bills with an impressive performance, throwing for 323 yards and 2 touchdowns. Despite a slow start, where the Titans jumped to a 10-0 lead, the Bills quickly found their footing, answering with 34 unanswered points. Rookie wide receiver Keon Coleman was a standout performer, hauling in four catches for 125 yards, including a game-changing 57-yard reception. Amari Cooper, making his debut after being traded to the Bills earlier in the week, added to the offensive onslaught with 66 receiving yards and a touchdown.
The Titans began the game strong, scoring on their first two drives. A 25-yard field goal by Nick Folk and a touchdown pass from Mason Rudolph to Nick Westbrook-Ikhine put them ahead 10-0. However, the Bills quickly responded, thanks to a series of impactful plays. Cornerback Brandon Codrington’s kickoff return gave Buffalo excellent field position, setting up a scoring drive that culminated in a touchdown run by James Cook, who made his return after missing the previous game.
Buffalo’s defense was also a key factor in the win. Linebacker Dorian Williams led the team with 10 tackles, and defensive end Greg Rousseau wreaked havoc on the Titans’ offensive line, recording half a sack and six quarterback hits. Safety Damar Hamlin had a standout moment in the second half, intercepting a pass from Rudolph, which further solidified the Bills’ dominance.
The second half saw the Bills take control of the game. After a turnover on downs by the Titans, Allen connected with Cooper for a touchdown, giving the Bills a 14-10 lead. From that point on, Buffalo’s offense and defense clicked seamlessly. Allen completed key passes to Coleman and tight end Dalton Kincaid, leading to another touchdown drive early in the fourth quarter when running back Ty Johnson caught a short pass from Allen to make the score 24-10.
The Titans, unable to regain their early momentum, were shut down by the Bills’ defense, which held them to only 11 yards in their first 11 plays after halftime. Buffalo continued to apply pressure, and Ray Davis capped off the scoring with a 16-yard touchdown run late in the fourth quarter, sealing the 34-10 win.
Despite the strong showing, the Bills were not without injury concerns. Linebacker Terrel Bernard left the game with an ankle injury after an earlier return from a shoulder issue, and wide receiver Curtis Samuel exited in the first quarter with a shoulder injury.
This game showcased Buffalo’s potential as a Super Bowl contender, with the addition of Cooper providing a new dynamic to their offense. Although the Bills started slowly, their ability to adjust and dominate in the second half proved their resilience and strength as they continue their pursuit of the AFC East crown.
With this commanding victory, the Bills look poised for future success, but they’ll need to address their slow starts as they face tougher competition ahead.
